1kbw Premises at Lewes

Photo4011_300s
Our premises in Lewes are housed in a 16th century listed building situated a few hundred yards from Lewes Crown and County Court.
Photo4014_300s174 High Street has tile hung walls and 3 large gables to the street. It has been subdivided at various times into three and now two dwellings. 174 is called Morley House, but the early history of the building is unknown. It is oak framed and still retains some of its late sixteenth century panelling.

In 1883 the building belonged to a draper and more recently in 1973 the building was occupied by the Evening Argus (local paper) which remained there until 1986. From 1986 until 1995 the building was vacant. In August 95 1 King's Bench Walk moved in taking us up to the present date.
