Private Children Act Proceedings - Andrea advises and acts for parents and extended family members (including stepparents) in all types of private children cases including contact and residence disputes, prohibited steps and specific issue applications, parental responsibility and leave to remove disputes.  She has experience of difficult cases involving implacably hostile parents and where there has been significant domestic violence in the home.  She regularly represents parties with mental health or learning difficulties.  

Public Children Act Proceedings - Andrea regularly acts for local authorities and parents in care proceedings.  She is experienced in dealing with complex cases involving multiple parties and children and allegations of very serious harm, including emotional and physical neglect and abuse and sexual harm.  

Marriage and Divorce - Andrea deals with all areas of marriage and divorce to include prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, annulment cases, especially in connection with arranged marriages.  

Family Finance - Andrea undertakes all forms of ancillary relief work and also deals with applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act, the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act and Child Support Agency proceedings. She also has experience in subsequent enforcement proceedings.  

Injunctive Proceedings
- Andrea has experience in dealing with injunctions under the Family Law Act and the Protection from Harassment Act in the County Court and the High Court.   

Crime - Andrea advises and acts for defendants, the CPS and other prosecuting authorities in Magistrates’ Courts, the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal.  She has vast experience in dealing with difficult cases involving domestic violence.  Her family work makes her well placed to deal with breaches of non-molestation orders and she has given various lectures on the subject of the criminalisation of breaches of civil injunctions.  

Andrea also undertakes prison work and has experience of prison adjudication proceedings.  

Andrea regularly advises and appears for local authorities in cases involving statutory nuisance, benefit fraud, dangerous dogs matters cases in both criminal and civil proceedings and has experience in advising individuals in relation to their rights in cases involving statutory nuisance.

Andrea is also a part-time family law tutor at the University of Manchester.
