Marcus Fletcher specialises in Licensing  and Crime.

Licensing    Marcus Fletcher has appeared for applicants, objectors and respondents.  Under the 1967 Act he routinely represented the licencing Justices and Police on appeal.
Recent cases have included Tesco Express and other high profile high street chains review applications.
Marcus Fletcher was recently involved in a case relating to Henley Royal Regatta.  The Licence covered an area of approximately 110 acres including land adjacent to the Thames and in particular a major section of the riverbank adjacent to the first half of the race.  He was engaged on behalf of the Licensees.

Crime    An interesting mix of prosecution and defence work.  Marcus Fletcher has prosecuted high value drug importation cases and associated Proceeds of Crime Act applications.  He rgularly appears for the Crown Prosecution Service in cases including junior briefs in murder and large scale public disorder cases.  For example, R v Grealish and others [2006] EWCA Crim 1095 (large scale football violence).
His cross examination skills have been commended in the Crown Court; and indeed he was called upon to cross examine the appellant in the Court of Appeal authority R v O'Hare [2006] EWCA Crim 471.
Marcus Fletcher is routinely instructed across a spectrum of offences including Murder, Death by Dangerous Driving, Section 18's, multi-handed cases, child abuse and indecency.  He is considered an effective advocate who has good skills with witnesses.
His defence practise includes Courts-Martial both in the UK and abroad.  He has represented client's Inicted through the Calendar of indecency / sexual offences, violence, dishonesty and others.
