Peter Newman practises in all areas of Criminal and Family Law.
Family Law - Finance & Divorce Peter advises and acts in all areas of ancillary relief, matrimonial finance and related enforcement proceedings. He also acts in relation to claims brought under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.
Family Law - Children Peter advises and acts in private law proceedings relating to domestic violence and children at every level including the High Court. He has experience in dealing with intractable contact disputes involving issues of international law and cultural sensitivity. He also acts at all levels in public law cases relating to children (including adoption).
Criminal Law Peter regularly advises and acts for both Prosecution and Defence at all levels. He has particular experience in dealing with cases that involve legal disputes such as abuse of process arguments or disputes over disclosure of unused material. He has also been instructed to act at parole board hearings and prison disciplinary hearings.
