Richard Castle is a family law barrister specialising in all areas of matrimonial finance.

He has particular expertise in cases involving international jurisdictional elements and his recent reported cases include:
Marinos v Marinos [2007] ; L-K v K (no.2) [2007]; L-K v K (no.3) [2007]; Bentink v Bentink [2007]; E-F v E-F and others [2007]

The majority of his practice consists of ancillary relief work at all levels.  He has appeared on several occasions in the Court of Appeal both alone and as a junior to leading counsel.

Financial provision  He acts and advises in all areas of financial relief relating to marriage and also applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989. He is regularly led in 'big money' cases and has considerable experience of cases with international dimensions, complex corporate structures and those involving freezing and tracing of assets.

International  He has particular expertise in the area of international jurisdictional disputes (see reported cases) as well as having experience of advising in off-shore jurisdictions in relation to complex ancillary relief matters, both from London and also in the relevant jurisdiction itself.

Cohabitation  With considerable experience of cohabitation disputes involving family homes he is able to advise in relation to cases involving constructive and resulting trust and estoppel.

Children  He continues to act in private law children cases including those involving allegations of abuse.

Richard regularly lectures on topics of current interest to the ancillary relief practitioner.
