Victoria joined 1kbw after a number of years practising in the Midlands. She has a wide ranging family law practice with a particular emphasis on public law children proceedings and financial provision in divorce. She regularly appears at all levels of court within the Family Division and has attracted a reputation of being extremely "client friendly” and a “polished performer”. Victoria has specific expertise in the following areas:

Financial Provision

Ancillary relief including cases involving family businesses and where third party claims are made against matrimonial property
Property disputes between cohabitees
Financial provision for children of unmarried parents
Civil Partnerships

Public Law Children Work

Victoria acts for Local Authorities, Parents and Guardians in care, supervision, special guardianship, adoption and secure accommodation proceedings. She has a growing reputation in matters concerning sexual harm and non-accidental injury.  Victoria also has substantial experience representing local authorities in respect of public interest immunity disclosure applications in the Crown Court. Although she now practises exclusively within the field of family law she has a background in Criminal Law and is a grade 3 Crown Prosecutor.

Private Law Children Work

All Children Act proceedings, including residence, contact, applications for leave to remove from the jurisdiction and other specific issues; domestic violence. Victoria regularly provides lectures and training days for local authorities and solicitors.
