Private Law Experience:
- Representing parents, vulnerable adults, children (separately represented and via rule 9.5 GAL)
- Contact and residence disputes from Family Proceedings Court to High Court
- Representing a child in an application by a father to the Court of Appeal. Issues considered in the case were:
- Whether the 14 year old child had sufficient emotional and intellectual capacity to instruct own solicitor independently of her rule 9.5 Guardian ad Litem
- Whether CAFCASS or NYAS were the appropriate representatives for the child within the proceedings
- The age at which a child’s wishes and feelings should be regarded as significant or determinative of an application for contact
- Complex finding of fact hearings within contact/residence proceedings, including allegations of serious domestic violence, non accidental injury, sexual abuse, rape and internet child pornography (quasi care proceedings).
- Applications for leave to remove from the jurisdiction with associated Hague Convention Proceedings (County Court and High Court). Associated jurisdictions: France, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada.
- Injunctive proceedings- occupation/non-molestation between adults and relatives
