The Child Abduction Team at 1kbw 1kbw Barristers

1kbw is one of the leading sets of chambers for international child abduction work. We have an unrivalled selection of barristers (both silks and juniors) who practice in this highly specialised field of work.

Since the Hague Convention was incorporated into English law in 1986, members of chambers have featured in many of the leading cases and been instrumental in the development of the law.

We have a very large team of junior members who regularly appear in the Applications Court and are almost always able to cover urgent applications made a short notice (including out of hours). Our clerking team will always strive to accommodate any application that needs to be covered.

We operate as a team and hold regular internal seminars to ensure that all members are up to speed with the latest developments in the law.

We recognise that this a demanding area of practice in which cases develop quickly and almost invariably require urgent attention.  We pride ourselves on being able to offer a comprehensive and highly efficient service to solicitors and are always happy to help out in the preparation of practice direction documents and affidavits as well as offering ongoing case management advice as and when required.

We are always looking for ways to improve the service we offer and welcome all feedback.
