Anna Sutcliffe

Anna joined 1 King’s Bench Walk as a tenant in October 2017 following her pupillage. During pupillage she was under the supervision of Victoria Green, Peter Newman and Nicholas Anderson. Prior to joining 1 King’s Bench Walk Anna was a paralegal in the family law department of a busy law firm, dealing directly with clients in divorce, financial, private law children and care proceedings.

Anna practises in all areas of family law. She has experience appearing at all levels, up to and including representing clients in the High Court.

Private Law Children – Anna regularly acts in applications for Child Arrangements Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders. She also has experience of international and internal relocation proceedings. Anna has conducted multi-day fact-finding hearings within Children Act proceedings, involving serious allegations of abuse.

Finance & Divorce – Anna acts in all aspects of family finance proceedings. She has assisted in cases involving jurisdictional disputes.

Public Law Children – Anna acts in public law children proceedings on behalf of Local Authorities, parents, Guardians and extended family members. During pupillage she was involved in a number of complex cases including non-accidental injury and sexual abuse.

Child Abduction – During her pupillage Anna  gained experience of child abduction cases in the High Court.

Domestic Violence and Injunctions – Anna regularly acts at all stages of Family Law Act proceedings, including Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders. She has acted in cases involving serious allegations of domestic violence and has represented a number of vulnerable clients.
