The members of 1KBW are delighted to announce that Harry Oliver KC has been elected and James Roberts KC has been re-elected as Joint Heads of Chambers. Harry and James will begin their joint tenure on 1 August 2026.
We congratulate Harry and James on their election and re-election and extend our sincere thanks to Christopher Pocock KC for his six years of dedicated service as Joint Head of Chambers alongside James Roberts KC. About James Roberts KC
James Roberts KC was called to the Bar in 1993 and took silk in 2019. He has been consistently ranked in the leading legal directories as a barrister specialising in complex financial remedy cases, and as an arbitrator, mediator and PFDR judge. He also has considerable experience in children work, particularly cases with an international element, and sits part-time as a judge authorised to hear complex financial remedy cases at the Central Family Court.
James is the Immediate Past Chair of the Family Law Bar Association and a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.
About Harry Oliver KC
Harry Oliver KC was called to the Bar in 1999 and took silk in 2020. Ranked as a “tier 1” matrimonial finance silk in all the leading legal directories (having been previously the star ranked junior), he specialises in complex divorce, financial remedies (including under Part III) and CA 1989 Schedule 1 claims, with particular expertise in high and ultra-high net worth cases involving company valuation issues, private equity and venture capital investments and businesses, corporate structures, and trusts.
Harry regularly sits as a private FDR tribunal and arbitrator.
