1KBW has one of the largest and most experienced dispute resolution teams in the country, with members offering:

Mediation – in both finance and children cases
Arbitration
Early Neutral Evaluation – often known as private FDRs in finance cases
Collaborative Law – in both finance and children cases

As part of 1KBW’s continuing commitment to overcome the challenges presented by the present situation 1KBW has fully implemented a stellar video-conferencing and remote hearing facility. We can confirm that it is fully operational both for court and private hearings.

Joining a remote court hearing, conference or private FDR, whether as a lawyer or as a Judge, is very simple: You simply ‘click on a link’. There is no need to subscribe to any software or download any ‘app’. We simply email a link to participants, and with one click each participant can join the video conference or hearing.

Crucially, the Lifesize system can be very easily accessed by the professional judiciary, as it can be accessed directly using ‘Skype for Business’.

Distinguished former circuit judges, Her Honour Christian Bevington and His Honour John Altman are associate members of chambers and part of our Dispute Resolution Team in cases concerning children. Following his retirement from chambers we also welcome back Stephen Bellamy-James QC as an Associate member of the Dispute Resolution team.

1 King’s Bench Walk will re-open on Wednesday 2 December 2020

1KBW is pleased to announce that we will again begin the process of reopening chambers from 2nd  December 2020. A series of measures are in place to ensure the safety of all staff, members and visitors.

We have been successfully working remotely during the second lockdown period and a number of staff and members will continue to do so to ensure social distancing measures are kept in place, as per government guidance.

We continue to request that all client meetings be conducted virtually, where possible. We are fully equipped to carry on with client conferences via telephone or video link, on any preferred platform. Should you require to come in to chambers for a meeting, please contact a member of the clerking team to make arrangements.
