1KBW has a strong team of skilled advocates who are experienced in representing a diverse range of clients, including those of very high public profile, those with international lifestyles and living arrangements, and those with addiction or mental health issues.

The separation of parents can affect all aspects of parenting and our private children law barristers are skilled at guiding clients through a wide range of disputes, achieving positive outcomes for them. The areas of disagreement may include child living arrangements and contact arrangements, or more specific issues such as religion, names and identity, education, medical treatment, holidays or permanent moves abroad, adoption and surrogacy. Sometimes, of course, cases involve a whole range of these disputes and issues.

an unrivalled breadth of talent, with leading practitioners at every level of seniority

Chambers and Partners

Our private law children specialists have experience of transgender issues relating to teenagers and parents, complex and intractable disputes, enforcement of orders relating to children’s arrangements, and protecting children from publicity. We also regularly deal with cases involving allegations of domestic abuse between parents and those which require fact-finding hearings where allegations of abuse have been made.

If you would like to discuss your requirements with one of 1KBW’s Private Children Law barristers then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with a member of our clerking team who will be more than happy to assist with your enquiry.

1 King’s Bench Walk reopened on Monday 6th July 2020

1KBW is pleased to announce that, following a stringent risk-assessment, we began the process of reopening chambers from 6th July 2020. A series of measures are now in place to ensure the safety of all staff, members and visitors. We have been successfully working remotely during the lockdown period and a number of staff and members will continue to do so to ensure social distancing measures are kept in place, as per government guidance.

We continue to request that all client meetings be conducted virtually, where possible. We are fully equipped to carry on with client conferences via telephone or video link, on any preferred platform. Should you require to come in to chambers for a meeting, please contact a member of the clerking team so that bespoke arrangements can be made.
