Ella joined 1KBW as a tenant in October 2025 following successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Mandy Tanner, Jennifer Perrins and Naomi Wiseman.

Ella has a broad and busy family law practice. She accepts instructions in all areas of family law and has already appeared as sole counsel in the High Court. During pupillage she gained experience across the full spectrum of family work and assisted members of chambers at all levels up to and including the Court of Appeal.

Prior to starting pupillage, Ella worked as a paralegal at a boutique family law firm based in Mayfair, specialising in complex matrimonial finance and child disputes. She assisted on a variety of cases, including children proceedings in the high court, multi-million pound postnuptial agreements, and cases involving complex assets with international elements.

Ella is committed to access to justice and has extensive pro bono experience. She often undertakes pro bono work and previously volunteered for Coram’s Child Law Advice Service, providing free legal advice to vulnerable individuals on a range of child law issues. During pupillage, Ella ran the London Marathon in aid of Coram, to further support its services. Ella has also volunteered for the legal charities Advocate and Amicus and has actively fundraised for the London Legal Support Trust.

Ella has also assisted the Family Law Bar Association in their work as part of the House of Lords Public Service’s Committee inquiry into child maintenance. As well as this, she is a contributor to the Financial Remedies Journal, providing summaries of recent developments of interest.

Ella accepts instructions in all areas of finance work including matrimonial finance, enforcement, variation, applications under TOLATA 1996 and Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.

During pupillage she assisted in cases involving complex business assets, jurisdictional disputes, intervener claims and offshore property.

Ella represents all parties in private children law matters, including disputes concerning child arrangements, residence, relocation, and enforcement. She often acts in cases involving serious allegations of domestic abuse.

Ella accepts instructions on behalf of parents, local authorities, guardians and extended family members in care and public law proceedings.

Ella accepts instructions at all stages of child abduction work. During pupillage she assisted in a number of High Court cases involving child abduction and jurisdictional disputes.
