The Court of Appeal has today handed down judgment in Potanina v Potanin (No. 2) [2025] EWCA Civ 1136. The Supreme Court had remitted this case to the Court of Appeal to consider two grounds of appeal advanced by Natalia Potanina, who was represented by Charles Howard K.C., Deepak Nagpal K.C. and Jennifer Palmer (instructed by Hughes Fowler Carruthers).

The Court of Appeal not only unanimously allowed her appeal on both grounds, but also reconsidered and granted her application for leave to make an application for financial relief under Part III of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984.
